BBC DIY SOS
STYLE ON SCREEN … DIY SOS THE BIG BUILD is the BBC’s flagship DIY programme attracting around 6 million viewers in its prime time slot on BBC1 presented by Nick Knowles the show is an hour long programme in which it takes on really ambitious builds to help out truly deserving families.
Travelling through Angellsey surveying roof blinds David Harrison the owner of inStyle received a call to action from Rebecca the BBC researcher and after hearing all about the family’s situation he was delighted to be considered and accepted the invitation to help such a deserving cause.
The brief was for standard white pleated roof and window blinds in the new build conservatory which was kindly donated by a local company – so we pulled out all the stops and installed the very latest perfect fit pleated roof and window blind system with a highly thermal and reective fabric that helps to maintain a constant usable temperature in the conservatory all year round.
InStyle were part of a team of suppliers that will feature in the BBC1 series DIY SOS THE BIG BUILD featuring a life changing transformation to the home of a family in Herefordshire.
A great few days with amazing camaraderie from all of the trades on site pulling together to get the job done and on time.
To our surprise we were invited back to work with the BBC team because they were so impressed with our fast turnaround! This time the build and program was taking place in the North East helping another incredible family. So watch out for the InStyle team on the BBC DIY SOS.
The Instyle team helping out on our 6th project with Nick Knowles and the BBC DIY SOS team, supplying 30 blinds for 4 houses on there biggest project to date, walking with the wounded/war veterans 2015 and we loved every second being part of it.
Sarah Beeny's Double your House for Half the Money
The Popular Channel 4 programme - Double your house for half the money hosted by Sarah Beeny has proved to be a big hit with the viewing public, Pulling in over 2 million viewers each week.
Throughout the series Sarah falls on her many years of interior design and building experience to help family's and couples alike to gain maximum potential and use able space from there extension and building plans typically resulting in homes that not only look fabulous in the end but can often end up with the added bonus of there original house value doubling in price from a fraction of the build cost.
Russ and Jen Hunt from Sheffield were one such family who enlisted the advice of Sarah and the Channel 4 programme for there own grand plans to build a large 2 storey extension and it was at the end of the main structural build were inStyle came in - Russ contacted us and explained what he was now at the interior dressing stage and that he was looking for roller blinds and Perfect Fit Pleated blinds -products that we manufacture and very much specialise in.
Russ and Jen were looking for roller blinds in the main bedroom and a roller blind that had WOW factor going on and that's exactly what they got with the fabric they choose Baroque Raven, these 2 roller blinds were the main feature of the bedroom finishing off the room in style with an opulent and stunning look, we also installed a lively Hollywood Pink roller blind in there daughters bedroom and a bold multi striped roller blind in the toy room
In the main kitchen / seating area they had new aluminium Bi fold doors installed with a grey anthracite finish to the frame work and this is were we installed our best selling Perfect Fit Pleated blinds, the fabric chosen was Celeste grey to blend in perfectly with the Bi fold doors and the interior of the room and we colour matched all the framework and pleated rails in a powder coated finish for a professional and classy look.
The end result throughout Russ and Jens home was a fabulous extension with a stunning interior finish and one to be proud of, it was a pleasure being approached to take part in the makeover process and being part of Sarah Beeny's popular Channel 4 Programme.
